The Electrum heralds Alembic's range expansion from the Series I and II guitars of the 70's. Built in extremely low numbers - not much more than a handful a year - Alembic guitars are widely regarded and the finest crafted electric guitars in the world.

This Electrum long-scale (25 1/2") is a good example of that craftsmanship and the innovation going on at the factory in what is essentially the second phase and features a two piece Mahogany body laminated with a simply stunning quilted Maple top and through-body neck. A hand-made Brass bridge, tailpiece and nut, Ebony fingerboard, sealed tuners and endless sustain make this one of the best playing instruments available anywhere at any price.

The brilliant active Alembic circuitry drives three 'Activators': two Strat shaped pickups and one Humbucker. A single filter pot and strat-style selector gives you complete tone control by electronically casting black magic spells over the strings. The on-board pre-amp takes care of phenomenal output and the long scale tweaks the string tension to make it very fast to pick notes while still being easy to bend. The guitar is in mint condition - no chips, bumps or scratches anywhere and is 100% original.

You read a lot that Alembics make you a better player but perhaps what they mean is that Alembics aren't for lazy players. They're super clean, accurate instruments that keep you on your toes and force you to work harder. Your legato will be smoother and your chording more articulate if you can hear what's going on - with an Alembic you can. The reward is something astonishing that you wont hear on any other guitar.
