L series - what can I say. The most desirable Fender ever? Some believe it is - I can't argue. These things are out of this world and this Jag is no exception. Finished in Leo's favourite Candy Apple Red, this is the original custom colour and probably one of the last of it's kind.

This is a one-owner, mid 1965 in great condition. There's actually not much wear; a few small chips around the back, side and front and some light scratching on the back. Candy Apple Red shows chips easily and I haven't see one yet that doesn't have at least a few marks at any price.

The guitar is honest and clean and Candy Apple is just awesome - especially with age. Rather than a faded Orange, you'll be pleased to know this is so Red and so metallic it looks like a '60 Cadillac. Married up with the gorgeous chrome trims and angles that Jaguars had, it's just very sexy.

Tone-wise this is an astounding Jag. There's sustain and bell-like ringing that you just never get on new guitars. A lot of people write this in descriptions but I invite anyone to sit with a re-issue and this one and compare - they are like chalk and cheese. This guitar noticeably sustains longer and louder on any E note you strike. I kid you not.

The switches and posts are clean and noise-free, the pickups are strong and clear, the string mute, bridge cover and tremolo are all there, the action is as good as you could ever want with great frets and the neck is an absolute dream. This one of my all time favourite players. It's just so easy to play and you get so much emotion and clean Fender tone from her. I really love the balance and custom contours of the body. Leo you're a bloody genius.

This one isn't cheap but you get what you pay for and as Clint Eastwood often says; "Leo aint makin' no more L series  ...".
