Product Description
Fender's acoustic guitars never gained the popularity they deserved and when you examine the Kingman and Palomino (amongst others in the range) you see it's more to do with Fender's roots than anything to do with quality and playability of the instruments.
Fender's range of acoustics were designed by Roger Rossmeisl (ex-Rickenbacker) and featured conventional acoustic bodies with bolt-on Strat-like necks. Where that alone might not go down well with Martin aficionado's, they were quickly adopted by electric players including Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Joan Baez and Steven Stills.
They're a strange brew of recognisable Fender manufacturing ideas and traditional guitar-building methods and the result is a stunning easy to play, great sounding acoustic guitar. If you're an electric player and would like to carry your lightning-fast legato across into the acoustic world, this is your guitar. Flamey Maple Strat neck, solid Spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides, silly fast action, new fret dress, Thomastic Plectrum strings - all original and in gorgeous condition. Hard to get anything Fender from the 60's let alone for under $2k. Comes in original case - and original shop swing-tags!
