Loading... Please wait...This 1968 Gretsch Rancher 6022 has a massive flat-top sound yet plays like an electric. 17" Maple Body with Spruce top, arched back and Rosewood board.
It has a neck you'd swear was off a Country Gent and is the coolest colour ever. The Rancher was introduced in 1954 and had large block fingerboard markers with cow and cactus engravings. These were subsequently dropped as was the G brand that appeared on the upper side of the lower bout.
The block inlays disappeared, as did the G brand, but by 1969 the brand had reappeared on the lower side of the lower bout and a zero fret appeared in front of the nut.
Our Rancher is well worn but not excessively. There are a few body scuffs and the top has quite a cool old patina. The neck has been professionally reset and refinished, the tuners have been replaced with deluxe low-geared locking gold ones. The case is non-original but the guitar fits beautifully and it is very well made.
