Loading... Please wait...This guitar is fully sick. An outrageous, one-owner National Westwood. It really represents the true nature of '60's electric guitar manufacturing in the US. Weird, exciting, evolutionary and cool all at once. The Westwood is the older brother to the Res-O-Glas (attack of the marketing department - "it's not fibreglass, it's Res-O-Glas you moron") siblings and was the only one that featured a Sunburst finish. Interestingly these guitars featured what is probably the first under-bridge pickup arrangement which gives an interesting tone when blended with the main pickup.
Refretted 5 years ago, this Westy plays and sounds magnificent. Now remember this was made by National, who knew a thing or two about resonator and acoustic guitars. You'll love how this solid body guitar sounds like a semi-acoustic while unplugged.
I've read many reviews that say the pickup in these guitars does almost anything you want. This one was purchased from John Pirruccello, owner of Lakland Basess in Chicago and has spent its entire life onstage. For all that it's in amazing condition.
